Profile

Your personal account: preferences, email notifications, teams and security.

What it's for

Your profile is your personal account, the same across all the teams you belong to: your name, photo and email, the dashboard language and theme, the notices that arrive by email, invitations and sign-in security. The tabs, in order: Profile, Preferences, Notifications, Teams and Security.

When to use it: To change the language or theme, choose which emails to receive, accept an invitation, leave a team, turn on two-factor authentication or sign out sessions you don't recognize.

#Your profile

Where to find it: Team menu › My account › Profile. Address: app.postal.so/profile.

The Profile tab is how you appear to the people on your teams.

ItemWhat it does
Profile photoDrag an image or click to choose one (PNG, JPG or WebP; large photos are scaled down to 512 px). Upload photo and Remove photo replace or remove the image.
NameThe name other members see.
E-mailUsed to sign in and to receive notices from Postal. The badge says whether it is Confirmed or Not confirmed (until it is confirmed, you can't add domains or create API keys).
Change emailEnter the New email and Your current password, and click Send link. The change only takes effect when you open the link sent to the new address; until then, the account keeps the current one, and Cancel change drops it. If the new email starts being used by another account before it is confirmed, the change is canceled.

#Preferences

Where to find it: My account › Preferences. Address: app.postal.so/profile/preferences.

OptionWhat it does
LanguageThe language of the dashboard and of the emails Postal sends to you: Português, English or Español. It is saved to your account, so it applies in any browser. It does not change the language of the emails you send to your customers.
ThemeSystem (follows your device), Light or Dark. It is saved only in this browser.

See also: Dashboard navigation.

#Notifications

Where to find it: My account › Notifications. Address: app.postal.so/profile/notifications.

Under Email preferences, each switch turns an optional type of notice on or off for your address. It applies to all your teams. It changes right away, with no save button.

KeyWhen you receive it
Usage alertsWhen one of your teams reaches 80% and 100% of its sending quota, and when your email validation or AI credits are running out.
Domain noticesWhen a domain is verified or its verification fails, or when a DNS record disappears.
Security alertsWhen someone creates an API key or joins or leaves one of your teams. Notices about a sign-in from a new device and about two-factor changes always arrive.
Finished tasksWhen the imports, exports, list validations and large or scheduled broadcasts that you started finish. This is the notice that brings the email when a large list validation finishes.
Deliverability alertsA warning when the bounces or complaints of one of your teams get close to the limit that pauses sending.
Weekly summaryEvery Monday at 9am (Brasília time), how each of your teams did last week: sends, deliveries, opens, clicks and bounces. It comes turned off.
Product newsNew features and major improvements, a few times a month.
ChangelogA summary of everything that changed in Postal, small tweaks included. It comes turned off.

Security, billing and sending-pause emails always arrive, since they are about your account.

#Teams

Where to find it: My account › Teams. Address: app.postal.so/profile/teams.

The list of teams you belong to (each with its own members, domains and plan) and of the invitations you have received.

ItemWhat it does
Your teamsEach row shows the name, your role, Joined and the Current badge on the team you are using.
Switch to this teamIn the row's Actions for menu. It changes the dashboard's team (the same as the selector in the top bar).
Leave teamYou lose access to this team's domains, emails and keys; to come back, someone on the team has to invite you again. The last owner can't leave: hand ownership to someone else or delete the team in Settings › Team (the Open Settings → Team button takes you there).
Pending invitationsThe invitations sent to your email, with who invited you, the role offered (owner, admin or member) and Expires. Accept joins the team (and Open team switches to it); Decline discards the invitation. Invitations only show up once your email is confirmed.

#Security

Where to find it: My account › Security. Address: app.postal.so/profile/security.

Everything that protects access to your account. For sensitive actions, the dashboard asks you to confirm it is you (with your password, with Google or with a code sent to your email, valid for 10 minutes).

Password

Shows when it was last changed (or Unchanged since sign-up). Change password asks for the Current password and the new one; when you save, your other sessions are signed out and a notice goes to your email. If you sign in only with Google or with an email code, the account has no password, and the button is Set password.

Two-factor authentication

Besides your password, signing in asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy...). The badge says whether it is On or Off.

  1. Enter Your current password and click Turn on.
  2. In your authenticator app, add an account and type in the Key (Copy key), or tap Open in authenticator app if you are on your phone.
  3. Enter the 6-digit Code the app shows to finish.
  4. Keep the recovery codes that appear (Copy codes) somewhere safe. Each one signs you in once if you lose your phone, and they won't be shown again. Then click I've saved them.

While verification is on, Generate new recovery codes invalidates the old ones and Turn off disables verification; both ask for your current password. The MFA column in the members list, in Settings › Team, shows who has already turned it on.

Connected accounts

Other ways to sign in besides email. Today, Google: Connect Google links your Google account to the profile (after you confirm it is you) so you can sign in with one click; Disconnect removes the link. To disconnect, the account must have a password set (Set password), otherwise you would be left with only the email code.

Sessions

The list of places where your account is signed in: browser and system (for example, "Chrome on macOS"), the device type (computer, phone or tablet), the IP and Active .... The current session carries the This device badge. Sign out closes a session you don't recognize; Sign out all other sessions leaves only the device you are using.

Delete account

Delete account deletes your account, your photo and all your sessions, and it can't be undone. First, leave every team or delete the ones you own (an empty team with only you in it goes away with the account). The screen tells you the next step and how many teams are left. To confirm, prove it is you (Your current password or, if the account has no password, Google or a code sent by email) and type your email.

Warning

Deleting the account does not delete other people's teams, but you lose access to them. Export what you need first.
