How it works
From the total to the detail
From the metrics page to the path of a single email.
Metrics by period and by domain
On the metrics page, filter by domain to see each brand separately.
- Delivery, open, click, bounce and complaint rates
- Line chart with the events you want to compare, or the same thing as a table
- Table by sending domain
Every send has its own timeline
Look up an email by recipient, sender, subject or ID and see its path: when it went out, when it arrived and whether the person opened or clicked. You can also see the content that was sent.
- Filters by status, domain, API key and period
- Permanent or temporary bounce, identified on each send
- The clicked link is included in the webhook event
- Works for campaigns, automations and your system's emails
The result of each campaign, in one place
After sending, the campaign shows how many emails went out, arrived, were opened and clicked, how many bounced, became complaints or unsubscribes, and the list of who received it.
- Send progress while it's happening
- Recipient list with search and status filter
- Unsubscribes counted per campaign
The period you need, and the file to take with you
Pick a shortcut or select days on the calendar. Need the data outside Postal? Export the list as CSV, with the same filters as the screen.
- Shortcuts from today to the last 30 days, or a free range
- CSV export of emails, contacts, form responses and more, on plans that include it
- Events also reach your system by webhook
Compare one campaign with another
In the campaign list, see side by side how many emails went out and which ones got more opens and clicks.
What each number means
In plain words, for people who don't live in spreadsheets.
- Delivery
- How many emails reached the person's server, out of those Postal sent.
- Open
- How many people opened. It's an estimate: some apps load images on their own and others block them.
- Click
- How many people clicked a link. It's usually a firmer sign of interest than an open.
- Bounce and complaint
- Emails that came back and people who marked them as spam. The lower they are, the better your reputation.
From adding up by hand to seeing everything in the dashboard
Without Postal
- Deliveries and clicks added up by hand
- No idea which campaign did better
- No way to see the path of one specific email
With Postal
- A report for each campaign, with send progress while it's happening
- Metrics filtered by domain and period
- Timeline of each send: went out, arrived, opened, clicked
- CSV export, on plans that include it

Frequently asked questions
Are opens exact?
No. They rely on an invisible image, which some apps load on their own and others block. Use opens as a trend and clicks as a firmer signal. Opens and clicks are only counted on domains with tracking turned on.
How often do the numbers update?
The metrics page updates every 15 minutes. Each campaign's report and each send's timeline show progress and each email's events as they arrive.
How long is the history kept?
Currently, the platform keeps sent emails and each one's history (delivery, open, click) for 30 days. The metrics page and each campaign's recipient list only show that period, but the campaign totals stay in its report. Export to CSV whatever you need to keep longer.
Can I see just one domain or one campaign?
Yes. The metrics page filters by domain and period, and each campaign has its own report.
