How it works
From template to send
Five steps, all in the dashboard.
Save your team's templates
Built an email you liked? In the editor of a template or a campaign, use “Save as template”. The layout becomes available to the whole team, under Templates › Gallery › My templates.
- Give it a name, a description and a category
- If you delete one of your saved templates, the templates created from it don't change
System emails with your brand
For email confirmation, access code, receipt and the other emails your product sends, families create the whole set at once: 10 styles and 15 email types, with your logo, your color, your font and your footer.
- You pick which emails to create
- Each email becomes a template with an alias, subject and variables, ready to send through the API
Questions about templates
Can I change everything in a template?
Yes. When you use a template, Postal creates a template of your own and opens the visual editor. You change text, images, colors, buttons and blocks, and the original template stays in the gallery.
Do templates already include the person's name?
They include variables, like the first name with a fallback value (“customer”). Check the text and the footer before sending.
Can I use a template in campaigns and in system emails?
Yes. A published template can be used in a campaign or sent through the API by passing the template and the variables. See the templates reference.
Can I see the template before using it?
Yes. In the dashboard gallery, every template has a preview. Postal only creates your template after you click “Use template”.
