Forms
Signup pages and blocks that become contacts: the overview, the list, the editor and the responses.
What it's for
A form is a public page (or a block to paste into your site) that collects contacts. People who respond join a segment of your audience, can be subscribed to topics and start automations. The Forms screen has three tabs: Overview (how your forms are doing), Forms (the list) and Responses (all responses together).
When to use it: For newsletters, waitlists, lead signups, step-by-step surveys and contact pages.
#Overview
Where to find it: Marketing › Forms. Address: app.postal.so/forms.
The New form button, at the top, asks for the Name and the Segment people join (static segments only; + New segment creates one on the spot, and with no segments the screen asks for the new one's name right away), and opens the editor.
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Period | Choose the comparison range (shortcuts and calendar). The numbers show the change compared with the previous period. |
| Cards | Views, Unique visitors, Started (people who started responding), Submitted, Conversion rate (submissions ÷ views) and Average time. |
| Top forms | The ones that got the most visits in the period, with views, submissions, conversion and a Responses per day trend line. |
| Recent responses | The latest people who submitted a form, with See all. |
With no forms yet, the screen explains the concept and gives ideas to get started: Newsletter, Waitlist, Contact and Survey. Statistics depend on the plan (Statistics not in your plan); forms keep receiving responses either way.

#Forms list
Where to find it: Marketing › Forms › Forms tab. Address: app.postal.so/forms/list.
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search forms | Searches by name. On the right, the total (N forms). |
| Row | The name (a link that opens the editor) with the Active or Paused badge; the public address, with a Copy link button; a summary of the Last 30 days (N views and the conversion, with a small chart of responses per day; clicking takes you to the statistics); and N responses with how long ago the last one arrived (or No responses yet). |
| Row menu | Edit; View statistics; Open page (the public page, in another tab); Delete (the link and the code on your site stop working). |
See also: Forms (API).
#Form editor
Where to find it: Marketing › Forms, opening a form. Address: app.postal.so/forms.
The top shows the name (editable), the Active/Paused badge or Unsaved changes, the number of problems to fix and the total signups, and the Save button (Ctrl/Cmd + S). The Public link card has the form's address with Copy public link and Open public page. Five views, as tabs: Editor, Responses (N), Insights, Share and Settings.
The Editor screen
| Area | What it is |
|---|---|
| Form structure (left) | The list of pages and blocks. Click to select, drag to reorder; Add block, Add page, rename and delete pages. Markers: Has jumps, Has problems and Conditional. |
| Preview (center) | The form as the person sees it, with a Light or Dark background. The preview works: answer it to test the conditions and jumps. |
| Edit panel (right) | Five tabs: Block (or Page, when a page is selected), Form, Design, Button and Success. |
Blocks
| Group | Blocks |
|---|---|
| Contact | Email (required and unique: it identifies the contact; always shown and can't have a condition), First name and Last name (saved on the contact). |
| Questions | Short text, Long text, Phone, Number (with a minimum and maximum), Date, Single choice, Multiple choice, Dropdown, Yes or no, Rating (3 to 10 stars), NPS (0 to 10). |
| Content | Heading, Paragraph and Image (photo, illustration or a YouTube or Vimeo video). |
| Advanced | Consent (an agreement checkbox, like the one required by LGPD, Brazil's data protection law; Postal records when it was given and from which IP) and Hidden field (not shown to the person responding; the value comes from the URL, like ?utm_source=..., or from the embed data). |
In the Block panel: the Question, the Description (optional help), Placeholder, Required, the Options (with Random order, "Other" option and images in the options), Save to contact as (the answer fills in a contact property), Show only if (a condition that uses earlier answers) and, under Advanced, the Answer ID (the answer's key in the API and in the CSV; changing it after you've received responses separates the old ones). On pages, After this page creates jump rules ("If ... go to ..."), evaluated in order; the first true one decides.
Edit panel tabs
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Form | Experience: Page by page or One question at a time (Typeform style, with Keyboard hints and Transition between questions: Slide, Fade or None); Show progress bar; Welcome screen (title, text, media and the start button); the page's Title, Description and Logo URL. |
| Design | Ready-made Themes, Colors (accent, text, background, answers), Typography (sans serif, serif, rounded or monospace), Corners, Background (color, gradient or image, with an overlay) and Brand (logo). |
| Button | Button text, button and text colors, the layout (Button below the fields or Fields and button on one line, for single-page forms only) and the next and back texts for the steps. |
| Success | What happens After submitting: Show the success page (title, text, logo, media and a button with a link) or Redirect to a URL. With email confirmation, the redirect happens when the person confirms. |
Before saving, the editor checks the form and shows the problems on the block or page itself (for example, the email block is missing, a condition uses a question that comes later, a jump goes backward).
Share
| Section | What it is |
|---|---|
| Public link | An address to send by message, social media or email. The form opens on its own page. If it is paused, the notice reminds you that anyone who opens the link can't respond. |
| Put it on your site | Two ways: Standard (the form inside your page, with the code for your stack: HTML, HTML with JavaScript, Next.js, WordPress, cURL or an iframe of the hosted page) or Popup (a button that opens the form in a window, with the Popup code). The code shows all the questions at once: conditions don't run in it. For multi-step forms, use the public link or the iframe. Save before copying the code. |
Settings
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accepting signups | Turns the form on and off. When paused, the link and the code show that it is unavailable. |
| Link address | The final part of the public address. |
| Segment | People who sign up join this segment (static only). |
| Subscribe to topics | People who sign up also join these topics. |
| Email confirmation (double opt-in) | Sends a confirmation link; the contact only joins the audience after clicking it. |
| Validate email on submit | Rejects nonexistent or temporary addresses and suggests fixes, like "Did you mean gmail.com?". Doesn't use validation credits. |
| Allowed domains | One per line. Empty: any site can use the code. Subdomains are included. |
| Show "Sent with Postal" | The badge in the footer. Hiding it is only available on some plans. |
| Email notifications | Alerts people (on your team or not) when a response arrives: Recipients (up to a limit; anyone not on the team confirms by email before receiving anything), Include the answers in the email, Reply straight to the respondent, Subject and the Frequency: Right away (one email per response, up to 200 a day; after that, a digest) or Daily digest (at 08:00). Send test sends an example. These are system emails and don't count against your sending quota. |
| Access | Close on a date, Limit the number of responses (deleting a response reopens a spot), Closed form message and Prevent repeated responses (each email address can respond only once). |

#Responses
There are two responses screens: the Responses tab in the Forms area, with the responses from all forms, and the Responses (N) view inside a form.
Responses tab (all forms)
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search by email, name or answer | Searches the responses. |
| Filters › Form | Limits the list to one form (All forms clears it). |
| Export CSV | Generates a file of the responses. |
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Respondent | The email and the name. |
| Form | Which form it came from. |
| Responses | A summary of the answers. |
| Source | Where the visit came from (source UTM, or Direct). |
| Device | Mobile, tablet or desktop. |
| Date | When it arrived. |
A form's responses
Under Responses, each submission with the answers from all pages, the Status (Processing, Awaiting confirmation when double opt-in hasn't been confirmed yet, Subscribed or Not added) and the Received date. The row menu has View response and Delete (the contact stays in the audience). View response opens the details: the answers, the Consent (when it was given, and from which IP), the source, Other answers and the View contact link. Export CSV downloads everything.
Insights (form statistics)
The Insights view shows, for the chosen period: the visit and conversion cards; the Funnel by step (how many reached each question or page and where they stopped, with the biggest drop-off highlighted); the evolution By day or By hour; the breakdowns by Source, Campaigns (UTM), Devices, Browsers, Countries and Where it was opened; the Answers by question summary (percentages, average, NPS, latest free-text answers); the When people submit heatmap and the Who submitted list. The statistics don't use cookies: each visit uses a random identifier tied to the tab, and anyone with Do Not Track or GPC turned on counts only in the anonymous totals. Export visits downloads the visits as CSV.
